I love it, America cannot hide from the truth, the bed we have made shall give restless sleep to the people of this country unless, we take away a lesson from this and act upon it.

I would like to see the test done in reverse, with young white children(should prove very interesting).

The Doll Test:
I don't think it's a stereo type that has so much to do with, "Race" as with Color. Think about how we describe anything Evil, or Bad, in terms of Dark, and anything Saintly or Good, in terms of Light...

Dark mood vs a light, sunny mood...

Looking on the Bright side vs always seeing the "Dark Cloud"

We might say of a friend who's always in trouble, that he has a "dark side".

In spirituality we move toward "enlightenment", and away from the "darkness" of sin...

Is it any wonder that a pre-school child would choose "dark" when asked to choose the "bad" doll? I think that whole "experiment" was horrible. Those children were basically forced, to call the dark doll that looked like them, "bad", When the only other choice was "light"

The Clarks concluded that “prejudice, discrimination, and segregation” caused black children to develop a sense of inferiority and self-hatred.

Actually, Clark's conclusion was unjustified, given that Clark's own research showed that Northern non-segregated black children were more likely to choose white dolls and to color a picture of themselves as white. As Roy Brooks notes in his book Integration or Separation?, Clark's research really showed that there was a "lesser percentage of out-group preference among southern children who attended segregated schools than among northern children who attended racially mixed schools. Thirty-seven percent of segregated children, compared to 28 % of integrated childre, preferred to play with the brown doll; 46% of the segregated children, compared to 30% of the integrated children, believed that the brown doll was nice; 49% of the segregated children, compared to 71% of the integrated children, said that the brown doll looked bad; and 40% of the segregated children, compared to 37% of the integrated children, felt that the brown doll had a nice color."

It's odd that anyone takes this research seriously any more. Segregation is bad, but not because of Clark's doll tests.
